"I have had the great fortune of quite literally growing up with Camp Weloki.  My parents are the camp founders and owners, Tim and Anne Jordan, and I was raised in the kind of peaceful, loving, and healthy family that our camp helps to create for other families.  I was a camper from ages 8 to 17 and absolutely loved spending a large bulk of my summers at camp.  I've been to many other camps, retreats, and schools and their just isn't anything that comes close to what Camp Weloki offers.  I've been a counselor at Weloki for many years now and have also instructed the kids and middle school camps for several years.  I graduated from TCU in Fort Worth, TX in 2007 and joined Teach For America in Chicago upon graduation.  I have spent the last two years teaching middle school on the west and south sides of Chicago.  This was an amazing challenge and an incredible experience which forced me to grow as a person.  Since my two year committment to Teach For America is complete, I have decided to take a year off in order to go and travel the world (or at least a small part of it!).  I leave in November for New Zealand and will travel and work across the country with just a backpack in hand!  I hope to return in time for camp next summer."
